The DOLPHIN Student Model
Combo is one of the most versatile harness/container systems in
the industry. Whether your training method starts with static line,
AFF, tandem-to-AFF, or IAD; the DOLPHIN Student Model Combo is
easily convertible from one configuration to any other without
repacking or even lifting the bag out of the main container. Your
students can use the same rig as they progress from first jump
student all the way to skydiver, and correct conversion is made easy
by a special color-coded system which is described in detail in the
Dolphin Student Model Owner's Manual.
Unless otherwise specified, each
DOLPHIN Student Model is equipped with adjustable main lift web and
extendable Iegpads, which will accommodate body sizes from Small to
XX-Large. The CYPRES installation kit is standard at no extra
charge, and is also compatible with several other similar Automatic
Activation Devices (AAD's).
For the past few years, Altico has
received reports from a number of student training centers that have
done away with the main ripcord and spring-loaded main pilot chute,
eliminating one of the transitions in the process of "Student"
becoming "Skydiver." Students who progress directly to hand deployed
throwout pilot chute from either AFF or Static Line, do not have to
learn and then unlearn ripcord deployment in order to make the
equipment compatible with this type of training, Altico offers the
AMBIDEX, which is a BOC pouch which can be deployed by the jumper,
or by either the right or left AFF jumpmaster. (See Altico's web

Another great problem solver offered
by Altico for student systems is the "Universal." This is a system
which can be used by jumpers who have been trained on an S.O.S, or
on a Dual-Action system, and it requires no change in configuration
from one to the other. This is particularly helpful to drop zone
operators who may want to accommodate jumpers from different
training centers without having to retrain them or reconfigure their
